VIP

Each week at Raegan's preschool, they have a VIP. This week, it was Raegan. She got to bring in her favorite book (Raindrop, Plop!), her favorite toy (a singing Hannah Montana barbie) and pictures of herself. She also got to bring in a snack to share at lunch. So we made chocolate chip cookies last night and I came to lunch to help Raegan distribute them.

I must say - if you have never eaten lunch with 16 4-year-olds, you are missing out! The conversation was hysterical! It ranged from knock-knock jokes that had no punch line to elaborate plans for birthday parties with debated discussions of who to invite to long drawn out stories about absolutely nothing.

After lunch I read Raindrop, Plop! to the class and Raegan shared her Hannah Montana Barbie and her pictures. One of the pictures Raegan chose was of a loggerhead turtle in a Turtle Hospital that we visited while on Jekyll Island this summer. The kids went crazy with questions about the turtle. What is his name? Does he live in a swimming pool? (asked at least five times) Why is he in the hospital? (asked about 10 times) Where is his family? Where is he now?

After the pictures, the children were supposed to ask Raegan questions about herself. The teacher had to continually remind them to ask questions about Raegan and not the turtle.
But from what the actual questions about Raegan - here are her answers:
Favorite Food: Pizza
Favorite Color: Purple
Favorite Weather: Sunny
Favorite Animal: Dolphin
Favorite Movie: Star Wars

And of course they asked what her favorite book and toy were even though she had already told them several times. It really was a lot of fun! I can't wait to go back for the Thanksgiving feast!
