Caterpillars and Cupcakes

Today is the last day of school before fall break, so Caden wanted to bring cupcakes to school to celebrate her birthday.

Today was also the Butterfly Release. For science, each student was given two caterpillars. Over the past few weeks, they fed them and watched the caterpillars form a chrysalis. Some of the chrysalis disintegrated, but some did form butterflies, which they released today. The kids actually saw one butterfly as it emerged from the cocoon. (One of Caden's chrysalis disintegrated, but one did become a butterfly.) The project was pretty cool and Caden enjoyed it.
